Pets recently brought to the shelter as found are pictured below (Feature in Progress). They may be given names by shelter staff, with general found location, estimated age, and sex.

During this stressful time, BEWARE OF SCAMS! There are plenty of criminals out offering to take your money to find your lost pet. Stay away!

Here are some tips for how to find your lost pet:

✔️ The surroundings

Thoroughly search inside/outside of property. Cats are especially excellent hiders.Check in with neighbors for keeping an eye out and checking their properties.

Lost a cat? Here are a couple of pro tips:
    • Leave a way for them to re-enter your home.
    • Use a fan to blow your scent out for them to follow
Lost a skittish dog?
    • Be sure all posts state not to call out to or chase!
    • Ask for reported sightings with time, specific location, and direction of travel only.
    • Do not offer a reward which may inadvertently incentivize well-meaning people to actively search and chase

General tips:

    • Put scent markers out at lost location (i.e. pet parent’s dirty clothing, dog bed or blanket)
    • Check around with a flashlight at dark to reflect eyes

Did you FIND a stray pet? 

  • Try and locate their pet parent through the Facebook groups listed above
  • Check with your neighbors to see if they’ve lost their pet
  • Check for a microchip if a tag isn’t visible.  This can be done at any veterinary office, or the shelter during business hours
  • If the shelter is open, feel free to stop by and have us scan for a microchip and look through lost reports.
  • Note: If the animal seems ill, please leave the pet in the car and seek a staff member.
  • Are you unable to keep the animal until you find a pet parent?  During after hours, please reach out to the appropriate law enforcement agency to pick up the animal:
